This ultra soothing, multi-purpose salve was originally created for my husband's eczema. During the first year of his condition, we tried many over-the-counter products to no avail. His skin just kept getting worse until his whole lower face was a mass of red, oozing bumps and scaly skin.

Wanting to avoid over-the-counter creams and the use of steroids, which can further thin out and damage the skin, I decided to create my own gentle, healing blend of oils and herbal infusions. A year later of research and experimentation (and many prayers!), the Herbal Skin Salve was perfected! My husband still gets flare-ups from time to time due to stress, but the salve keeps it maintained and under control.

~INGREDIENT FUNCTION~

The carefully selected, powerful blend of herbs chosen for this salve are soothing, anti-inflammatory, calming and have skin renewing properties. The combination of oils and butters help to heal dry, cracked skin, seal in moisture and protect the skin's natural barrier.

While originally created for eczema, it's also great for dry areas such as hands, feet, elbows, knees, nails and cuticles. I even like to apply to my face during those dry Winter months when my skin needs a little extra TLC.

Key Ingredients

Herbal Blend
This herbal blend is a power house full of skin-healing nutrients. It's anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties work together to fight against dry, itchy, red and inflamed skin, eczema and psoriasis.
Tallow
Similar to the natural oils in the skin, tallow is easily absorbed and is a highly beneficial moisturizer. It contains a unique blend of essential vitamins A, B12, D, E, and K that you can't find in products made from vegetable oils.
Fun Fact: Early soaps were made in Babylon nearly 5,000 years ago from beef tallow and ash.
Cupuacu Butter
Cupuacu has the capacity to absorb 440% of its own weight in water, making skin supple, soft, more elastic, and moisturized for longer periods of time. In comparison, shea butter only has the capacity to absorb 200% of its weight in water.
Andiroba Oil
Andiroba is known as a medicinal oil due to its excellent penetrating qualities and anti-inflammatory activity. It makes this oil exceptional for treating skin conditions such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis.
Sunflower Lecithin
Lecithin is an amazing humectant, meaning it attracts water and retains moisture in the skin, making it very effective for hydration.

How To Use

Rub generously on affected areas. Best applied on damp skin for deeper penetration. For targeted skin conditions such as crook of the arms, it's best to apply and cover with a long sleeve shirt. If targeted areas are hands/feet, apply to skin and wear gloves/socks at night to seal in moisture.

Our Process

HARVEST

We only use plant materials that are wildcrafted, organically grown and sustainable.

MACERATE

The plant materials are infused in organic cold-pressed, unrefined oils for a minimum of 4 weeks, allowing the medicinal properties to extract into the oil.

STRAIN

The infusion is then strained by hand and pressed to expel all beneficial properties from the plant material.

POUR

The now plant extracts are then poured into glass containers, ready to be used in our products.
